Probably the most beautiful section of the historic path leads over high-altitude trails and through fertile valleys. You start in S. Teotónio, from where it goes mostly downhill, on the dirt roads, which used to be the more direct routes when you were still traveling with the donkey cart.

You can experience the facets of rural life on the Alentejan coast on this tour. Hermit farms and scattered settlements alternate with pastures and fields. You can refresh yourself on the way at a reservoir.

This is the way to the sea! From the Serra you can reach the two coastal plains through cork oak groves, which have formed in two stages of sea level fluctuations.
